A little about me…..
Hello everyone! I’m Angie!! I’m so glad you are here!
I was born and raised in NW Indiana. My favorite part about this area is the beautiful fall colors and Lake Michigan. We live just about 15 minutes from the amazing Indiana Dunes; A beautiful 15-mile-long beach with huge dunes hugging the southern shore of Lake Michigan. We visit there often all year round. We love to hike the trails. I have 4 boys, 23, 18, 8, and 5! I call them the Bigs and the Littles! We love nature, hiking, adventure, and travel. One of our favorite things is visiting the National Parks.
Before 2020, I worked with small children at a daycare for about 4 years and before that I was a Title One Paraprofessional Teacher for 2nd and 3rd grade for 8 years. I love kids and I love teaching. The world changed in 2020 and I am now a full-time work from home mom. I’ve worked long and hard my whole life and I never thought I’d be at this place in my life. I LOVE it!! I love being at home, being present with my kids, not having to call off if the kids are sick, showing up for all the sports and after school activities, and being “that” room mom!
My youngest, Joshua, who was just over 2 when the pandemic hit, has health issues, a compromised immune system, a bunch of allergies, and a lot of sensitivities. I couldn’t risk his health going back to the daycare when it reopened. I stayed home. It was the best decision. He is the one that brought me to Lemongrass Spa. Every product I would try on him would make his skin rash and bleed. I tried everything. I started making my own products because it was the only way I would know exactly what the ingredients were. I found out so many companies claim to be safe but yet hide many toxins in their ingredients. I lost and gained respect for a lot of companies in the beginning. Now making your own products is time consuming and so is researching ingredients and calling companies trying to get full ingredient lists, especially when you have a small child that doesn’t sleep!
A friend introduced me to Lemongrass Spa. It was the first company I really trusted. Their ingredients were the best and always transparent. I went to an online Facebook party to check them out more. I ordered some small trial size products and won a skin and nail balm stick. THAT’S what sold me! That skin and nail balm was the first thing to give Joshua’s skin relief. It helped clear his eczema and it healed my painful, cracked, split fingers! Next, I tried the charcoal trio for my face and it was love!! I hosted my own party to get some more products. Then I joined so I could get a discount and fill my house with all these amazing products! I started sharing because these products were too good to keep to myself.
As an education lover, I love to teach others about ingredient safety, proper skincare, and share sustainable, toxic free tips. I’m a pretty crunchy mom, breastfeeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, and I use reusables as much as possible to get away from all the one-time use products that fill our landfills. I will be sharing tips on all of these here in this blog. If you have any questions, need help, or would like to hear more on a subject, please contact me.
I’m my best self when I’m giving back! I love how many opportunities Lemongrass Spa gives us to give back to communities. Giving back is at the heart of Lemongrass Spa and one of the reasons I love this company so much! Over the years, consultants have given back to thousands of nonprofits, fundraisers, outreach programs, victims of violence and our military. In addition to their efforts, Lemongrass Spa home office has sponsored dozens of impactful giving back campaigns.
Lemongrass Spa’s mission is to provide safe healthy options that work and are affordable while giving back to communities. Lemongrass Spa is a women founded, family owned and ran natural skincare company. All of our products are handmade fresh for you in small batches right here in the USA.
